Survived the reunion in Chesterfield. We arrived up there at 10:00 a.m. The doors were locked. A senior missionary came and opened up. The kitchen was added to the Amusement Hall after the hall was restored. So the entrance is down stairs from the stage or from outside. It was cooler down there. Graydon came too and ran the scanner for me. No one brought genealogy except for Diana. Ray brought his guitar and sang. Angie and PJ came and Angie painted faces. She did a wonderful job. Too bad we couldn't have begun with her earlier then all the kids would have had a chance. The auction did well and the bank account will get a little interest before the next time. It became beastly hot.
We cleaned up early and everyone seemed to disappear. We did go down to Nathalie Higginson's home...she is Phil Bradbury's mother. It was hot there too. But I love that old home. Everyone was mostly nice. A few quirky folk - but they seem to be in every family. I was stressed to the max. Randy said he didn't think I was, but I slept a lot on Sunday and went to bed at 8:00 p.m. So I WAS worn out.
So, I asked Julie to please bring her boyfriend, Nathan in to meet us. She said no, because she didn't want him to be judged. I said I was sorry I am not perfect. I'm working on that. But we want the BEST for our daughter. Her reply....uh-uh....like duh, I see through you and you're a liar.
AURGH. I said, "Bring him home so we can see how he is...maybe we'll like him." She said no.
I am trying.
DOUBLE AURGH.
Today is a letdown day. A blue sort of day.
My family history class has ended. In about 3 weeks will start up again. Not sure if I've made a difference, or really helped anyone.
Definitely a blue day.
Think I'll go practice.
