Poem for Julie Woodbury

After Bonnie called me from the Dominican Republic about Emily Woodbury and the loss of her little baby girl I was reading my scriptures and wondering how best to comfort and/or send solace.  I knelt and asked Heavenly Father to help me find the words that would be symbolic of the Savior's love, the Easter season, and families.  What came out is not perfect, but an answer to that prayer.

For Julie Woodbury

From divinity to
a steady beat of mother's heart
this eternal round is
a similitude of generations
gone before

And now!
A joyous Spring!
A revival of earth
…the temporal and spiritual

Stroke each tiny finger and toe
caress the downy head
in submission to His will
wrenching grief,  yet a near joy
as your Zion child
receives her immortality and glory
  a totally perfect being

Like the One who has also gone before
the perfect man -- a God
providing the mercy
for a forever family.
