I forgot to write about Sally, who came up on Friday to visit from Salt Lake.
After I joined the Church, I moved to Utah and lived in Provo for almost a year. Then I got a job in the Confidential Tithing Section at LDS Headquarters. We were under the direction of Marvin J. Ashton. I commuted for awhile and then saw an ad for LDS female roommate. I called and talked with Sally. I moved in with 5 other young women (well, I was the youngest....they were all 5 years older or more than I am). But they were really good to me. I shared a room with Sandy. Had 2 dogs and cats and a pine tree I nurtured and named Fred. It is difficult to transplant pine trees. I don't think he made it!
Anyway - forward to 2011....I look on fb and there is Sally - but no photo. I sent a message - and it WAS Sally George.
She lives by herself now and doesn't have a car. She rides the bus everywhere. Imagine. It took her 2 and 1/2 hours to get to 24th and Wall where I picked her up. Her mother is a Norr and is from Brigham City. Sally grew up in California, but knows this area fairly well.
It was so great to hear what everyone has been doing and find out what Sally is reading and how her life is. She was always so kind to me and mild-tempered. A dear. I am so grateful to renew this friendship. I would like to do something for her if I can. She showed great patience and kindness to a little 'orphan!'
