What a crazy weekend. Saturday I got up and went for a hike up Perry Canyon. The fall colors are staggeringly beautiful and the sound of rushing water is calming and looks cold already. I went with Bonnie Partridge and Marley. We met up with Stan Thompson who was heading uphill to work on the trail over to White Rock.
Today was a good Sunday. Good in that I was able to get dinner ready early, had a lesson prepared and got to RS in time for Melissa's Lesson in RS. She did a great job. The lesson was on Family History and she used one of the video clips from the course. There was a great spirit there and she got participation. Of course, I was the luckiest one in the room, because I got to sit with Valerie and hold little Annie and kiss up her cute neck.
Then my class. I had 10 people there. Wow. It's almost overwhelming for me. But lots of dynamics and lots of questions which is good. I hope people will get the 'bug' and then get going on their own research.
Sacrament Meeting was the Primary Program. The Neslens played their violins. Anni Williams hung over the pew back and made faces and blew bubbles. She is so adorable. Shari did a terrific job leading. The kids really sang and most knew their parts. It was an enjoyable program.
Then choir practice. Whew. Long day. Came home to home-made soup. Hoped to take a nap - but alas could not sleep. Worrying too much. Began a new J. Archer book....he is one of my favorite authors and it's a book I can barely put down.
A new PBS series begins tonight on Masterpiece Mystery....Private Investigator Jackson Brodie P.I. Brodie is played by rats...I forget his name....he played Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter....based on books by Kate Atkinson. The books are so filled with bad language....I gave them up. Hope the show is better! The show was a bust. Two terrible sex scenes, (I changed the channel) and a confunded story line. I'll stick with Jeffrey Archer. Bonnie recommended to me "The Way of Kings by somebody Sanderson. It's currently out at the library but I will put my name on the list. Everyone is talking about "The Hunger Games." But I haven't read those. My daughter-in-law says they are quite violent.
Piano lesson on Tuesday....it would be nice if I could get there.
13 more reports and then the Final exams. I am getting close to the end. I hope there is a job in my future!!!!
P.S. Ryan Cronin is in my thoughts and prayers. (I have a HUGE list!) I joke sometimes that when I have a prayer Heavenly Father gets brownies and milk before he sits down to listen...) But Ryan loves Brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts and so do I. He is an amazing guy. I could hear Spencer singing clear from the front. He is a good singer. They have a LOT of music in that family!
I have had a few depressive episodes this past week. Hard to get up and going, hard to keep going, hard to be cheerful. Melancholia is not a bad thing....it just slows me down a bit.
