Monday June 27

One hundred sixty-seven years ago today - Joseph and Hyrum were martyred. I am so grateful for their sacrifice.

I had some comments yesterday that straightened me back rightside up. One friend commented, "Why do you care that people who are less the person that you are---are saying stuff?" or something like that. "Why do you have to please EVERYONE?" So true. "Maybe you need a spanking?" That one did it.

Also, I found a quote in my scriptures from Kelly Bott "Just because someone drops an offense doesn't mean you have to bend over and pick it up." Bless Kelly.

So - I'm sorry I offended folks. I guess I'm going to to that quite a bit since I have many years (I hope) left to improve myself. Loralee told me that the people who count will forgive and let me grow. The people who won't definitely don't count. I will try to have compassion to let others do the same.

Heather Ellis is adorable. I really admire her. She bore such a sweet testimony in YW. These young mothers are powerhouse women! Really! I want to be like them when I grow up. I used to want to be like Nola when I grew up - but these young mothers have QUALITY! And I want that. Now I found out that Lisa Hall is another powerhouse mother. Holy Cow. She spoke yesterday in church - in spite of the tears she was very articulate and the love for her in the eyes of her husband made me cry too. I feel so lucky to get to know these women. Their faith is incredible, their lives exemplary, their growth and change so inspiring.  It makes me feel small to read my earlier posts - just because I got my feelings hurt. POOK.

Graydon got his cortisone shots today. He says his knees hurt like crazy - but he has faith everything will work out according to the Lord's will. His MRIs showed extra fluid and inflammation under his patellas. He has lasted 1 more month closer to December! We are so grateful for each week. I know he doesn't want to come home early. Let's all pray the cortisone works for a bit - then he can have surgery when it's all over. (Heavenly Father--are you listening to me whine again???)
