On Wednesday I walked Perry Canyon in the morning. The cottonwoods are just beginning to turn a beautiful lemon yellow. The creek is singing a hollow song as it dances over the fallen timbers. It is so beautiful!

This weekend is Brigham City's "Peach Day's." My daughter-in-law is setting up a face painting booth...at relatively inexpensive prices. She came to our family reunion and did the kids for free. So a lot of locals now know about her. She is very talented.
Saturday is the Writing Competition award ceremony. My little story, "Eva" won! The awards are usually small town stuff...1 gallon of rootbeer, 2 quarts frozen yogurt, a free dinner at a local restaurant. But it's fun...and it makes me work hard to get a story ready.
I am really worried about getting a job. I know I will GET a job...just not sure I can DO the job. Here is why....I have had 6 surgeries on my left knee. The first was a Slocum Procedure in 1971. I can't find out anything about that except that they do it on dogs now. (WEIRD!!!!) But can that come apart?
I walked Monday and Tuesday - the mile loop. On Wednesday night I was in so much pain, I took a Lortab 7.5 and walked my kitchen for 2 hours...it's so bad I can't sit and practice or study. AURGH. My faithful border collie who is laying beside me now with her head on my foot....walks around the table (feels like 5 miles) the entire time!
So on Thursday, I go back to bed at 5 a.m.and finally sleep until 10 a.m. How can I do a job like this? TRIPLE AURGH AURGH AURGH.
I bought a book of iron-on pillowcase designs - Victorian Flowers. They are so beautiful. There will be new stitches to learn - but a step up in class. I am interested in learning ribbon embroidery as well.

Graydon is doing so much better. He says his knees are hurting less and he is getting around better. His sugars are staying steady. YAY. I can see him moving ahead with life little by little.
