=======================================================I love words and books, fine paper, and satin ribbon markers.
Sometimes at the library a book will sort of fall off the shelf....and it is almost always one I would never choose and then somehow it is something I need. I wonder then if some angel was sent that day to direct my reading, make my life fuller somehow.
I watched Harry Connick Jr on TV (PBS) tonight. He has a wonderful voice, but I love his songwriting the best. He tells stories between the songs so you know where he's coming from. It's not all about just getting through the numbers...something that drove me crazy about Diamond Rio...you get your 1 hour 15 minutes and no more, and no more personal - who cares if we're there or not? But Harry walks to the edge of the stage and looks at his audience and lets us share a little in his life. It is intimate yet not too informative. Mostly the creative process, and it is fascinating. He sang a song that included the line "Close your eyes, you can hear me in the harmony" (I think!) it was a stirring ballad, and yet a little haunting too. Goodness, I love it.
