We have actually been back a week. I am sick. RATS!!!!! Probably from given the kids too many hugs and kisses. It was a fast trip, but we were glad to go.
Highlights! Going to the open house for the Gilbert Arizona Temple. It was fabulous, about the size of three Brigham City Temples. In the chapel the organ is in the front (unlike Brigham's) and the organ is smaller than ours too. The whole building was very grand. I think Brigham City's is sort of homey....maybe because it is smaller. The Gilbert Temple is vast and even the dressing rooms are a nice size for changing. Taylor really enjoyed the Temple. Ayden tried to tell me that Jesus was on the top of the Temple and I tried to convince him that it was actually the Angel Moroni. Not sure if he believes me yet. It wasn't too hot there, although they had several water stations nearby.
Ayden is really into the Titanic and also volcanoes. I told him about Dante's Peak - so he looked it up on YouTube and watched the 10 clips they had. Netflix lost that one so he hasn't seen the whole thing. We had a great discussion about pyroclastic clouds and lava bombs. He is one smart cookie.
We went to the Phoenix Science Museum. Wowee. It is really a hands on place for kids. Grandpa had a great time. It was really fun to watch the kids and have Kayla hold my hand. She is my lovebug. I hope to post some photos eventually.
There was a whole display of the human body and genetics. Kellye took a photo of herself next to the open heart surgery mannequin. I hope she sends it to me. The bug collection is very nice. Ayden loves scorpions.

Also, we went to the music store and found a digital piano for Ayden. I should have bought the bench, but i am a twit. It is not as great as a real piano, but for a digital pretty good. Of course a Clavinova was out of the budget, but this Williams is pretty good.

We went to a fabulous used bookstore. I wish I had a million dollars. I could have spent a lot in there. I had a LOT of fun, too much fun playing this little piano---and probably drove Kellye crazy, but she was too nice to complain about it. But Ayden's enjoying it as well and that makes me VERY happy.
We flew back on Monday. It was a hard day for Taylor. Somedays are harder for him than we think, and therefore, they are harder on everyone. I just don't know how Kellye does it. She is an AMAZON woman. We are so proud of her. Taylor screamed for about 5 hours off and on. He gets angry too. He is hard to distract on a bad day. But eventually we made it to the airport. (A different route than Collin took us before!) and flew home. Julie held the homefront and Graydon and Alyson helped take care of Marley.
Maurice Roche gave us one of his last fallow deer. So we have meat in the freezer now. My fridge is dying and needs to be replaced. So does the roof, the washing machine, the back porch, the front porch etc. Maybe we should just build a new house, but we will have this paid off in less than a year.... about 5 years earlier than planned. I am so grateful.
My job is going well. All the transcriptionist's got an email from the boss saying our 'turn-around times' needed improving. I knew I was on the list. I spend too much time reading stories and playing with Bella. I sent my boss a little note and told her I would work on it. She sent me a note back stating:
Good Morning, Dawn.
The note I sent out regarding turnaround time was meant for everyone and certainly not primarily for you. I’ve always appreciated your open communication with us and wish other MTs were even 1/10th as reliable at it as you are. No other contract MT has communicated this openly with us before and the fact you have makes me believe others can and even should.
Over the past six months you have been second from the top each month with regard to average overall turnaround time and I appreciate the fact that with rare exception your work is back to us in just a matter of few hours. I’ve gone back only six months to review averages, but know you have remained very near the top ever since you began working with us. Your most recent average turnaround times have been:
Jan 3.71 hrs
Dec 3.57 hrs
Nov 3.93 hrs
Oct 3.92 hrs
Sept 4.22 hrs
Aug 3.65 hrs
Most likely, the MTs who will be most impacted by this change won’t take notice of the fact it’s THEIR behavior that prompted this. Isn’t that generally how it is?
Wasn't that nice of her? It relieved some stress for me.
Well, piano students coming and I have a ton to do before. Maybe I'll wash my face. =O)
PS Bonnie and Bill Partridge coming home March 1st! I hope I get to see her soon. I think I need therapy.
